Basing Depth for Supporting Archers
I was wondering how players are basing their support archers in large units. The literal rules would have the supporting archers on 6cm bases but in the EI2 the Late Roman lists allow the supporting archers to also be modeled on S stands. Was wondering if other lists should be able to do that as well? My motivation is purely aesthetic in nature (I think it looks better.)

My Mycenaean archers are on 40mm S bases. This works well aesthetically.
There is a local convention we have that makes S bases 30mm. This lets us double them up to make a T base, if necessary.

Re: Basing Depth for Supporting Archers
Doesn't that cause confusion? We usually have only 2 or 3 figures on a S base (in 28mm) but many more on a T (12 in the case of my Spara but that's silly)
The idea of using a T base as an S seems strange.

Not at all. We generally have four to a base for skirmishers. So two bases makes eight figures. Which looks quite respectable.
I think two figures is a bit....sparse

I see - you double up two bases of skirmishers to make one of T - that makes sense.
re "sparse" - horses for courses. I use 2 for VBU 2 and 3 for VBU3, I think they look ok.

Re: Basing Depth for Supporting Archers
Hi
In 25mm I have this in the Late Roman / Patrician Roman armies, here I have a S stand with 4 figures on that I use as a supporting archer rear rank.
I mainly only use these in that role although do have flexibility to use as a S unit - otherwise my S units have 3 figures on.
Also if I want to play a strict T shooter option I can use two of the S unit to make a T shooter unit
All in all pretty flexible.
