This is the definition for CRITICAL NUMBER across the rulesets"

Impetus:

"CRITICAL NUMBER is the unit's CURRENT VBU ...."

Basic Impetus v1

"CRITICAL NUMBER is the unit's CURRENT VBU ...."

Basic Impetus v2

"CRITICAL NUMBER is the unit's VBU ...."

There is no way a new player starting with Basic Impetus v2 will calculate CRITICAL NUMBER correctly as the game proceeds.

The new rules text needs a correction. An example from a previously damaged unit under Firing and in Melee would also help.

For context. I love these rules.

To be fair a unit's VBU at any particular moment is it's current VBU - otherwise what would be the point of the combat mechanics depleting it? This I think is actually fairly obvious.

I think saying

There is no way a new player starting with Basic Impetus v2 will calculate CRITICAL NUMBER correctly as the game proceeds."

is rather over-emphasizing things - there is a chance someone may calculate it wrongly, not a certainty!

That said I'm all for clarity and adding "current" removes any doubt.
