If Impetus II goes the way of Baroque then reactions should pretty much make it immaterial as making a non-combat move in the face of the enemy will encourage a reactive charge.

I'm not sure how reactions would impact impetuous wheeling.

As an aside, I hope that Impetus doesn't go the way of Baroque. I prefer ZOCs and Opportunity to reactions in Baroque.

I mean that the reason to want to fiddle with the wheel to avoid contact would become inherently much more dangerous - and that was the reason for the questionable behaviour wasn't it, to protect a fragile unit from having to fight?

Currently unless you have an enemy on OPPO or you clumsily trigger a ZOC infringement you can drag your coattails with impunity.

With Reaction in place, every enemy unit will be potentially able to 'have a go' at your unit that's trying so hard to avoid taking a CT.

To my mind that would make it much less desirable to behave in such a manner. And I always prefer making such situations a sub-optimal decision rather than yet another rule clause trying to define what it is trying to prevent.

To the aside - we will agree to differ then, as I am of the opposite view essentially. And I believe that Lorenzo has indicated that (a form of) Reaction is in Impetus II but we'll just have to wait and see.

Yes we'll have to wait and see. In the mean time clearing up a few things like this is good.
I'm still not sure on how to rule with Group Counter-Charges for example Neutral ...just hope it doesn't come up in the next competition or anytime soon Smile Deal with it then I suppose.

One of our best and most informed players (and generally great guy!) is a bit stubborn about this so the more evidence I can muster the better.

You wheel to aim at them. Now you might well fudge that a bit and wheel more than is absolutely necessary to hit them, but that's hardly a massive issue.

Wheeling to run through the arc of aiming at them and then bypassing them is absolutely not on.
