Does disorder by terrain require a rally to recover Empty Does disorder by terrain require a rally to recover

Another thing that arose in today's game. We assumed that a unit needs to rally from disorder regardless of the cause. So just leaving bad going doesn't remove disorder (I think our uncertainly comes from other rules we've played).

Correct. At the beginning of the activation, a unit that is disordered rolls its DT. Assuming it passes the test it can then move and if it completely exits the disordering terrain it ends its move in good order.

Thanks.

I've also learnt something. I didn't appreciate you could rally while disordered due to terrain. It is only the moving that causes disorder. This is good as it means, with luck, you can back out units that are able to move backwards, e.g. CL.

Actually a unit that is disordered can always move - it just can't move more than once, so it doesn't have to pass a DT at all.

It may take it's free Rally DT but unless it can leave the terrain by the limits listed it would be disordered as soon as it moves, as GC says.

The confusing bit is after Difficult Going - "Leaving this ground does not lead to disorder. . ."

Now BUA are Difficult Going right - so compare with the BUA rules - "The occupying unit can abandon a BUA at any time, and is placed in disorder, next to one side. . ." WTF?

I presume this applies only if you've "Occupied" the BUA by passing a DT - can you pass a DT, not occupy and then move out without disorder? It's all a bit confusing Smile

I'm yet to have a game using a BUA.

There are a number of movements that are unavailable to disordered units. Now that I know I can rally while in disordering terrain I will have a bit more flexibility.

Loving these rules, but I'm still learning and no rules are perfect

so..if you leave a diffickult terrain while disordered with no test...and ending up in good terrain ..

Then

1.-YOU ARE NOT DISORDERED as you recover automatically when leaving bad terrain ?
OR
2.- You ARE DISORDERED?because ylu did not test and yous D status keeps still ??

If you are disordered you need to rally. Your point 2.

The rule is that "Leaving this ground does not lead to disorder. . .". In other words it does not provide a free rally, but rather that it does not cause further disorder. I would also think the distance to be covered in leaving the difficult terrain would also be a factor when considering "leaving". I felt it means leaving from the edge of the terrain.
