Critical Number

In the example on page 31 for permanent losses, it has the critical number as 4. Shouldn't it be 3? Or am I missing something.

Short Distance +1

Yes, that would certainly seem to be the case (unless D&P forgot to mention that a commander was attached!). I am new to this so maybe there is some arcane explaination neither of us see. Good catch.
