Company level Baroque Sci Fi

Post by Jim Webster on Tue Sep 01, 2015 11:08 am

Hi everybody.
Purely for my own amusement I've been working on an Impetus version for Sci Fi, where a 80mm by 40mm (or whatever) represents a company equivalent

The idea is that I use it with my various collections of SF figures. I've been building them up in 15mm for a long time (from before there were many commercial 15mm figures except for Tabletop and I've got them as well Very Happy )

As I tend to use all sorts of stuff

A heavy weapon stripped off a crashed spaceship, mounted on an air-raft to provide power, but then the air-raft has to be pulled by draught animals Embarassed

Or the cavalry

My cunning plan is that if I get the points cost right, you'll be able to use pretty well anything, so you can hunt Mecha with infantry

Anybody else interested?

Jim

I've given up with the photos, it won't work with photobucket and won't load them directly from my PC :-(

Hmmm ... seems odd to me.

If you have an internet log that pictures can be posted to, then post a link to it, and we'll be able to see the pictures there.

I use it as a heavy support weapon. The idea it's an energy weapon they stripped off a space ship, mounted on an air raft to act as the power source and then pulled it with draught animals because there's no power for movement Embarassed

What it is is a Tabletop air raft (still in production after perhaps forty years) with a resin casting of a ships lifeboat crane as the weapon. The draught animals are Pendraken aliens (in 10mm) the figures are Peter Pig 15mm
The 'harnessing' is from Irregular and comes with their medieval warwagon to protect the horses.

should show some of the cavalry to go with them, Peter Pig 15mm WW2 German cavalry riding Pendraken Aliens

It's just a case of using whatever you fancy. I've got Games Workshop epic 'tanks' as one man tankettes :-) and it's amazing what you do when you let your imagination run Very Happy

The idea is that if I can get the points systems right, in theory you can use anything your fancy invents

Hi only just saw this thread - Jim, the pictures in your initial post don't work because there is no url in the "img" tag - send me the urls of the pictures and I'll correct it for you Smile

The "Sad" emoticon seems to be a sign of unhappyness. Remember that happiness is mandatory. Please report to your happiness officer for a psychic briefing - thanks for cooperation!

I think I've managed to boss it, there are now two pictures on the previous page

The reason there are only two pictures is that I don't actually have a camera Very Happy

As this was getting quite a little bit offtopic but entertaining none the less I moved the posts about cellphones and modern times to the atrium where we can continue without hijacking Jim's thread completely.
It's there under "Modern Times..." now.
Jim the thread here is your's again Smile
