Calculating critical number for cohesion test Empty Calculating critical number for cohesion test

Post by Téléphonefix on Mon Jun 03, 2019 11:50 am

Hello,

We had the following question last time we played : the rule for calculating the critical number states that it cannot be less than 1. But does this occur at any time during the calculation of that number, or shall we roll up to 1 at the end of the test ?

An example to make my question clearer : A unit of disorganised Gauls (VBU 4) with a général suffers 5 hits in melee against roman legionaries. We hesitate between to options :

1°) "the critical number cannot be less than 1 any time during the calculation of the critical number" : the critical number of the Gauls is 4 VBU - 5 hits = -1 rounded up to 1, -1 disorganised = 0 rounded up to 1, +1 for general = 2.

2°) OR : "the critical number cannot be less than 1 at the end of the calculation" : the critical number of the Gauls is 4 VBU - 5 hits - 1 disorganised +1 general = -1 rounded up to 1.

We chose the second option, but wanted to be sure.

Thanks !
