new here from central France. Finally starting to use the rules both baroque and the newly arrived impetus.
Why no group moves in Baroque?
it looks right though for those long lines of battle for the late 17th century, if maybe not earlier.
What are the design reasons for it?
I could not find the answer, forgive me if it was there buried deeper than my searching.

Well the reason is that in Baroque Units are close to Groups as they simulate something like a brigade. The choice so was to simplify the whole rules in this way, avoiding Groups. Reactions with Groups proved to be the more difficult part in Impetus 2. In Impetus 2 they were necessary, in Baroque not.
